It was risky, one more shot to the dome and Pickly could have been a total vegetable. But this was all he knew how to do, so he went for it. No guts no glory! And Pickly's dream of a heavyweight championship was finally realized.

The second edition of our 2020 Wild Turkey Russell's Reserve private barrel run is here, and it's a champ! Barrel 20-0227 comes from Warehouse G, disilled November 2011. While Pickly I was red nib candy - sugared cherry licorice, Pickly II is coming from the completely other direction with salty chocolate covered nuts. Reese's Pieces? More like a Take5 bar with chocolate, peanuts, caramel, peanut butter, and pretzels. (Mental note, need to buy some Take5 and try them with this bourbon!). The palate is typical Turkey glory, spice from the high-rye mashbill, all the beautiful cocoa and caramel, and sticking with the phenomenal salty chocolate-covered peanut butter magic. The finish is punchy, rich, and dry with all the salt and sweets tagging up for a wonderful sensation.

This run of Turkey's is some of the best we've gotten our hands on. Two more bottles on the way for the four-part Pickly series, and (spoiler) they just keep getting better through the entire run.
