Who knew that when the original Beast Masters Club "Hot Pickle Society" arrived in Lawrenceburg, Ky four years ago that we'd get this far! We all packed into a Suburban, plastic-wrapped Hot Pickles in laps, smiles on our faces, and embarked on a run of private barrel picking for the ages. Today's bottle is the first barrel in our fourth series of Wild Turkey Russell's Reserve. In honor of the fourth coming of the Hot Pickle, we are doing a four-part pickle epic.

All you can say about Pickly is that he's got heart. This scrappy contender came from meager beginnings, beating up sides of beef on the fourth floor of Warehouse E, and now's he's got his shot at the title. Barrel 20-0191 is a mad candy experience. The nose has an uncanny similarity to Nibs! Those fat red licorice nubs that keep you chewing for hours. Surrounding these wonderful juicy candies are all kinds of other flavors, your typical oak, char, a little smoky tree bark, and then spices like red hots, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg. The palate is still super sweet but also oily and uncscious, really coating the tongue in that warm sugary molasses. The finish is wispy and super smooth, combining all the elements of candy, wood, spices, and texture.

Here's a quick preview: you're gonna want the whole Pickly IV series. These are some of the best Turkeys we've ever captured. Getting nicely aged Wild Turkey at 110 proof for less than $10/year is an awesome deal. And if Pickly won't quit, you shouldn't either.
