Oooo don’t we love a short barrel? Don’t we love an old MGP bourbon? Don’t we love high-rye? Don’t we love a beaver???

Half this barrel was bought last year by a rock band. What it Phish? AC-DC?? We’re not allowed to say. (ok, ok we don’t actually know).

But the important part is that the remaining 67 bottles sat in that mostly empty cask for the last 18 months or so, and that had a really nice effect.

Deep char and vanilla on the nose. This is a rich one. Not super spicy, but very warm and just absurdly smooth for the 120+ cask strength proof point. Some honey roasted peanuts on the nose. Mostly honeyed oak. Just a classic bourbon.
