Our first run of Barrell Bourbon casks this year were so good that we dubbed them “Bee’s Knees 2019.” Well those three are gone and so we immediately called our friends at Barrell to see if they had anymore. Honestly we figured if they had anything close to the quality of those three barrels, we would snatch it up immediately. Needless to say Joe & Will and the team over their did not disappoint!

This particular barrel S133 is very similar to the second Bee’s Knees bottling (Barrel #G635 if you’re counting). It’s a MASSIVE Dr. Pepper bomb. Super dark, syrupy, rich, with stone fruits, jammy plums, figs, & prunes, yards of oak and char, and a beautiful finish. That G635 barrel was incredibly good, and this like a sister barrel in terms of flavor. The mouthfeel is super viscous, the color is so dark it’s like deep purple (or more like flat Dr. Pepper), and the proof sitting at a natural cask strength 108.2 couldn’t be more perfect. They really know how to do it at Barrell, Un-Chill-Filtered to give it that unbeatable thick flavor-bomb goodness that makes us want to fill up a bathtub with this stuff and soak in it for hours (ok now we’ve moved out of the realm of appetizing metaphors, sorry).

This Hot Heifer is one sultry bovine for sure. Don’t miss out. Seriously this is a golden year for over-aged Tennessee Bourbon and there’s no way that supplies can last at this price point. It’s simply too good.
