Dedicated to two Beast Masters (Alex & Jessi) who were recently wed and helped us select this beautiful barrel, Beauty & The Beav is another 14 year TN treat from Barrell Bourbon. This barrel was actually misplaced and rediscovered so our sentiments are somewhat belated, but the juice is still just as sweet! Sadly due to the logistics we only have 47 bottles available of the original 107.

These TN barrels from Barrell Bourbon's warehouses are absolutely stunning. This one came out a pretty low cask strength of around 103 proof. While we sometimes love a monster proofer, there's a whole different school of thought that low proof cask strength barrels pack in all the flavor at a more drinkable abv. Whatever the science, it's fucking delicious.

In the glass it's got a lovely dark iced tea / burnt copper color. The nose is birch beer, the tree bark really attacks the nose! Dry wood bark meets sweet syrup, what a nose! Sweet woody cola notes. Beautiful syrupy sweet notes with vanilla bean, heavy cream, and more root beer / birch beer / cola notes. Then the baking spices come in, fresh craked cinnamon sticks, cloves. And then a big dose of leather polish and oak. It's similar to the "Dr. Pepper Bomb" bottles back from our Bee's Knees 2019 series but with more wood, both in the tree bark at the front of the nose and the deep white oak behind it. This is taking too long because we can't stop sniffing the glass, it's really awesome. The palate is very clean with an emphasis on the oily texture, creaminess coming to the fore in the taste. And the finish brings it all together with a short caramel/nougat pop on the tongue followed by a long chest warmth with aftertastes of that lovely birch beer.
